Anjelica Lindsey Featured on ASCAP New Music Friday Playlist
Anjelica Lindsey’s “Rivers Rising,” the opening work on her new album Oklahoma Woman Quartet, was selected for the ASCAP New Music Friday Playlist for August 7, 2026, placing her work alongside music by ASCAP-affiliated composers and songwriters.
The curated playlist, presented by ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers), highlights new music by ASCAP-affiliated songwriters and composers. Lindsey’s “Rivers Rising” was selected as one of the featured works and remained on the playlist through August 14, 2026.
“Rivers Rising” opens Oklahoma Woman Quartet, Lindsey’s original 11-movement song cycle for solo voice and string quartet. The work explores Oklahoma womanhood, contemporary Indigenous experience, and Cherokee identity through Lindsey’s perspective as a Cherokee composer.
The ASCAP feature follows the release of Oklahoma Woman Quartet and highlights Lindsey’s work within a curated national music platform.
Lindsey is an ASCAP member and a composer, violinist, and recording artist based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is also a member of The Recording Academy and the Association for Women Film Composers.
